About CampGroup
Our Core Values
Child Development
Positive child development is the critical result of our efforts. We also promote positive growth among the adult members of our camp and home office communities.
Excellence Drives Success
Every member of the CampGroup family is expected to strive for excellence in every facet of his or her professional endeavors.
Building Community
The formation of strong, positive, close knit communities is an important element of our camps’ identities and the CampGroup culture. CampGroup camps develop their own unique identities. The personal development people experience at our camps enables them to be more positive members of their communities - virtual, camp, school, neighborhood, global etc.
Leadership
We are leading providers of the best possible camp experiences. Our camps provide examples of excellence to other camps. We actively participate, as leaders, in industry-wide events, trainings, communication, and philanthropy. The growth of CampGroup increases the positive impact of the camp industry by providing a greater number of people with the best possible camp experiences.
The CampGroup Difference
Collaborative Professional Development
CampGroup’s camps are among the finest summer camps in the United States. Each camp has a unique identity which has evolved, in most cases, over the course of many decades. What distinguishes CampGroup camps from other comparable camps is the power of our collaboration. Through our collective efforts, our camps make each other better.
CampGroup professionals participate as leaders in virtually every major American Camp Association (ACA) learning event. No other organization can list among its members five Legends of Camping (Legend of Camping is the highest honor awarded by the ACA). We actively participate in local, regional and national training opportunities.
The people of CampGroup also create and execute our own robust professional development regimen. This regimen is anchored by a three-day Fall retreat and one-day gathering in the Spring. In between are a number of shorter Best Practices sessions. What does this mean for our camps? It means that we train all year long. The energy and enthusiasm of our young professionals combines with the wisdom and experience of our Legends, resulting in the best possible experiences for our campers.
Home Office Support
CampGroup’s directors are supported by a robust and dedicated back office team. Our home office handles all manner of administrative tasks - accounting, record keeping, IT support, etc. - so that our directors can focus on what matters most - providing children with experiences that enrich their lives.
The home office is led by not just skilled executives but by camp directors — Mark Benerofe, CampGroup CEO and Director of Camp Winadu, and Dayna Hardin, CampGroup President and Director of the Lake of the Woods & Greenwoods.
Family Business
CampGroup is a family business. The Benerofe family is joined by the Klein family, the Korins family, and CampGroup’s directors in an active partnership.
